The planetarium building, located in the Sea Station area, is an architectural gem with a modern design that combines functionality and innovative technologies. Here are details about the construction and features of the site:
Architectural-Construction Characteristics
• Spherical Construction: The building has an impressive outer diameter of 12 meters, formed by a spherical body with an enclosing ring.
• Casing: Made of stainless steel grade 316 L, treated to a mirror surface, with a total area of 400 m², mounted on a stainless steel support structure.
• Foundation and Access: Reinforced concrete foundation combined with functional access to the building via steps and a ramp encircling the sphere.
• Peripheral ring: The perimeter ring passes into a visor over the main entrance, constructed of stainless steel construction and lined with aluminum panels with an aluminum honeycomb core. Illuminated at its periphery by a neon beam.
Interior and Functionality
• Auditorium: With a capacity of 50 seats, equipped with a projection dome, as well as a modern audio and visual system, a suspended ceiling that integrates air conditioning and lighting, while guaranteeing acoustic comfort.
• Acoustics: All surfaces in the core of the planetarium are optimized for excellent acoustics, with sound-absorbing and sound-directing properties.
Technical specifications
• HVAC: The heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system is implemented through individual heat pump air conditioning split systems of direct evaporation.
• Electrical installations:
• Lighting: Effective lighting in the interior and exterior of the spherical volume.
• Systems: Includes all necessary electrical installations, including low-current systems and security systems, such as PIS and SCS, as well as equipment for video surveillance, sound and announcement.
Environment
• Landscaping: The site is surrounded by green areas that contribute to the aesthetic appearance and cozy atmosphere.
